Installing a compression manhole gasket for a cored or cast-in hole is a very simple process and on today’s show, Midwest Territory Manager, Dan Brundage, joins us to show us just how easy it really is.
Dan covers Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Illinois and Missouri.
What is a Kwik Seal Compression Seal
Kwik Seal is a compression manhole gasket that meets or exceeds the requirements of ASTM C 923 and uses no special tools for installation. Contractors will find this to be very beneficial in the field because they don’t have to go looking for that special wrench or fitting to insert the pipe.
The installation process is as simple as 1… 2… 3…
How to Install Kwik Seal
Installing the Kwik Seal for a precast producer is as simple as using our spray adhesive and inserting the gasket. Out in the field, the contractor has a few more steps to connect the pipe to the manhole. So if you’re a contractor, follow these steps:
1. Clean surface of hole to prep and use our spray adhesive
2. Fold gasket into heart shape and push into hole
3. Bevel pipe and lubricate the gasket and beveled end of the pipe to insert
After installation of the gasket, ensure that the lip of the seal is flush with the manhole to prevent the gasket from flipping inward.
Where to use Kwik Seal and Quality Standards
You can use the Kiwk Seal in a variety of different types of structures for storm water or waste water systems such as:
· Manholes
· Wet wells
· Square pump and lift stations
· Storm water structures
· On-site treatment structures
· Junction chambers
· Grease interceptors
And to ensure that your gasket is performing to the highest standard possible, the Kwik Seal meets and/or exceeds all requirements of ASTM C 923, including physical properties of materials and performance testing.
